Newlin Elementary celebrated #HispanicHeritageMonth2024 in style! The school community came together for a vibrant event featuring spectacular performances by the Dream Center and Huepa dancers. Students enjoyed a variety of engaging activity stations, including papel picado crafts, Bingo en español, a special "How to Make Paletas" storytime - complete with their own paletas to enjoy outside, a popcorn station, and a Macarena dance party in the gym. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to experience the rich traditions, tasty treats, and joyful music of Hispanic culture. A special thank you to the Williams High School students who assisted our students throughout the day, enhancing the experience for all. We're grateful to everyone who participated and made this celebration of our diverse #ABSSCommunuty so memorable!

A large group photo in a classroom setting. The image shows a diverse mix of adults and children of various ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. In the back row are several adults, likely teachers or staff members, wearing name tags. In front of them are many children ranging from young elementary age to teenagers. The room appears to be a classroom with educational materials visible in the background. Everyone is smiling at the camera. The logo "ABSS" (Alamance-Burlington School System) is visible in the bottom right corner.
Seven young children standing outside a school building. They are diverse in ethnicity and are all smiling and holding colorful popsicles or ice pops. The children are wearing casual, colorful clothing with fun graphic t-shirts. Behind them is a brick building with windows, likely their school. There's grass in the foreground where they're standing. The "ABSS" logo is again visible in the bottom right corner.
