Big congratulations to these exceptional ABSS musicians who showcased their skills at the 2025 Western Region Orchestra in Boone last weekend! Senior viola player Aslynn West from Walter M. Williams High School and junior trumpet player Christian Boudrealt from Western Alamance High School participated in the Honors Orchestra under Dr. Alexandra Dee's direction from Appalachian State University. Freshman bass player Michael-Andres Cruz from Williams not only performed in the Repertory Orchestra but earned 1st chair in his section! 🎵
The Repertory Orchestra was conducted by Williams' own Orchestra Director, Veronica Biscocho! North Carolina's orchestra program divides the state into eastern and western regions, each hosting special events featuring guest clinicians from across the country. So proud of our musical stars! 🌟

To close out Athletic Director Appreciation Week, WAHS would like to show our appreciation for ABSS Director of Athletics, Todd Davis. Todd works incredibly hard to support all of the athletic programs in our district, and he truly exemplifies what it means to be a servant leader. He is always willing to jump in and help whenever and wherever he is needed, and no job is beneath him. We are blessed to have him as a leader and an advocate for our coaches and athletes!

Winter Break is starting soon! We will see all of our students and staff back on campus on January 6, 2025!

Yesterday, we recognized our amazing Athletic Director, Coach Sean Quinn. As much as he does, Coach Quinn would be the first to tell you he could not do everything it takes to run our athletic program without the support of our fantastic assistant athletic directors. Gwyneth Smith and Bo Jordan play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of WAHS Athletics, and we want to take the opportunity today to celebrate and thank them for all they do for Warrior Nation!

Western Alamance High School is incredibly fortunate to have Athletic Director Sean Quinn leading our Athletic Department. Coach Quinn brings a wealth of coaching and AD experience to the position, and he possesses a deep understanding of what an AD can and should do on a daily basis. Coach Quinn knows the value a strong athletic program adds to a school, and he consistently advocates for his athletes and coaches, working countless hours to ensure they have what they need to be successful. Under Coach Quinn’s leadership, WA Athletics has won multiple state championships and seen significant improvement in our athletic facilities. Coach Quinn truly cares about WAHS, evidenced by his unwavering commitment to putting students first. We are so grateful for Coach Quinn and everything he does behind the scenes to make Warrior Athletics great!

🌍 Hallo! Our Elon Elementary Lil' Phoenix received a special visit from Leni Henne, a Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (CBYX) student from Mering, Germany. Currently a junior at Western Alamance High School, Leni shared fascinating insights about German culture, teaching our students common phrases like "Hallo" (Hello) and "Danke" (Thank you). Before saying "Auf Wiedersehen" (Goodbye), she treated students to delicious homemade cookies that gave them a sweet taste of home! 🇩🇪🇺🇸

Hello Warrior Families, This is Avery Artis Assistant Principal sharing the a couple of things that went on at Western this week. First we had our Food Science Explorers camp hosted by ABSS CTE department. Students across the district learned about Food Science and even showed off some of their culinary skills. The students really enjoyed this camp. The second camp was the Future Warrior Basketball Camp hosted by Coach Loy and Coach Bailey along with a few members of the girls basketball team. Students learned basic skills for basketball and how to play various positions. In addition, I caught them playing a game of dodgeball. The younger students had a blast!!
