Hello Warrior Families, This is Avery Artis Assistant Principal sharing the a couple of things that went on at Western this week. First we had our Food Science Explorers camp hosted by ABSS CTE department. Students across the district learned about Food Science and even showed off some of their culinary skills. The students really enjoyed this camp. The second camp was the Future Warrior Basketball Camp hosted by Coach Loy and Coach Bailey along with a few members of the girls basketball team. Students learned basic skills for basketball and how to play various positions. In addition, I caught them playing a game of dodgeball. The younger students had a blast!! Hello Warrior families! We need your help. We ended the 2023-24 school year with a lunch debt balance of over $5,000. If we are not able to clear this debt prior to the end of June, the school will be responsible for paying the remaining balance. Lauren Gallathen, a senior at Western Alamance High School, was awarded the prestigious Bronze NJROTC medal from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Gallathen has demonstrated outstanding academic excellence, dependability, good character, adherence to military discipline, and leadership as the Operations Officer overseeing many unit events this past year. After graduating, Gallathen plans to pursue a nursing degree with the goal of eventually joining the Air Force, following the military path of her two brothers currently serving. Her achievements at such a young age make her very deserving of this honored NJROTC recognition. Congratulations, Lauren!

✨ 38 Days, 38 Schools: Western Alamance High School truly stands out as a remarkable institution where a powerful sense of community intertwines with cherished traditions and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. It's a place where the whole community wraps their arms around the students and school. Whether it's a big game, a play, or an awards ceremony, you can count on people showing up and showing their support. They give so generously of their time and resources because they truly believe in the power of education and what this school does for kids. It's that kind of community spirit that makes Western so incredible. Western is also deeply rooted in tradition. You'll find students whose parents and even grandparents went there. Teachers too - some have spent their entire 30+ year careers at Western because they love the school's history and traditions so much. Those traditions create this powerful legacy that gets passed down from one generation to the next. Ultimately, Western is synonymous with excellence across the board. Academics, sports, arts, clubs - you name it - the students strive to be the best. It's called the "Warrior Way" and it pushes them to reach their full potential and make their mark on the world. Western is the total package!
