Congratulations to Coach LaFuria and the SEHS Track Team on a fantastic season. On Friday, members of the track team traveled to NC A&T State University to compete in the NCHSAA State Championship Meet.
Janay Pegram finished 6th in the 100m and 5th in the 200m
Augustine Koroma finished 6th in the 100m and 7th in the 200m
Yousef Mustafa finished 9th in the 800m
Marquis Burnette finished 15th in the 200m
Boys 4x400m Relay Team finished 7th (Augustine Koroma, Yousef Mustafa, Neil Edwards, and Isaiah Tumey)
Girls 4x100m Relay Team finished 13th (Kamora Robinson, Reagan Brooks, Chloe Torain, and Janay Pegram)
Girls 4x200m Relay Team finished 14th (Kamora Robinson, Speshell Carr, Chloe Torain, and Janay Pegram)
Congratulations as well to Ms. Katie Murray and the dance classes that put on a wonderful performance last Wednesday. The concert was excellent as the students showed off all they had learned this semester.
Our attendance rate for the last week was 92.1%. Our freshman class led the way with a 94.2% attendance rate. Your child must be at school and on time to be successful in their classes. We have made a slight adjustment to our tardy policy for the 4th quarter of the year. Click here to view the updated tardy policy. Please help us by ensuring that your child is at school on time everyday.
On Wednesday, our concert band will hold their spring concert. Please make plans to come out this Wednesday at 7:00 to hear some fantastic music from our Southeast bands.
Everyone is welcome to the first annual Southeast Art Exhibition this Thursday from 4:30 - 6:30! This event will be held in the school cafeteria and is open to everyone. We have a lot of talented, dedicated art students and I can't wait for you to see what they've been up to this year. At 6:30, we will induct our first members to the National Art Honor Society.
Our yearbooks have arrived and we will be giving them out to students that ordered a yearbook later this week. If you still want to order a yearbook, there are a few still available and you can order one at the link below.
We are currently 2 weeks away from the start of exams. Please remind students of the Exam Exemption Policy. Just a reminder that students can only be exempt from teacher made exams. State EOC and CTE exams are mandatory for everyone. Below is the spring exam schedule. If students have a conflict with the exam schedule then please have them speak with their teacher.
The district approved the calendar for the 24-25 school year at their BOE meeting earlier this week. The approved calendar is linked below.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up. If you have any questions please reach out to us.
Breakfast and lunch are not free for all students. Our school currently has a negative balance of $3400. Please make sure that your child’s cafeteria account does not have a negative balance as we come to the end of the school year. You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
