I am so excited to be part of the Stallion Stampede! This is my 15th year as a school counselor. I began my career in education at Morehead High School in Eden. In 2019, my family moved to Alamance County and I served as the Graduation Coach at Eastern Alamance until I was hired as Lead School Counselor for Southeast. My passion is helping students to find their potential and then have one of the best seats to watch them realize it! In my office, you'll find that I live by 3 Cs: Compassion, Consistency and Communication.

Outside of school, you'll find me spending time with my two children.Jenna is a student at Elon University. Jacob manages Request Boutique in Greensboro. I also have the best dog, Sadie. I love to travel and am always planning my next adventure. I find peace by any body of water. I also love to take pictures of any and everything. You can see some of my pics of events at Southeast on my professional Instagram Page: ms.toms_studentservices.

My name is Shaun Stiel-Jenkins and I am the School Social Worker for Alexander Wilson Elementary School and Southeast Alamance High School.  This is my 11th year working for ABSS.  I received my BSW at NCSU in 1995 with a concentration in mental health and behavior management in adolescents.  From there I was the Director of all School-Aged Child Care Programs at the YWCA in Raleigh for 8 years.  I also had my own horseback-riding business for 14 years, and coached for special olympics in the equestrian division.  Before I started working at AWE I worked at ABSS as a Behavior Support Specialist in the Day Treatment Program, and subbed in as a Social Worker and EC Teacher for 2 years.  I have a daughter who is in the 10th grade--she is very musical and loves planes!  I have a step-son who is also in the 10th grade who is very creative, and a step-daughter who is in college in Austria.  I am married to the love of my life who also happens to be German.  We love to travel, camp, and explore places in nature.  Paddleboarding and warm weather helps to keep chi flowing.  I try to hang on to my inner child as tight as possible!  My goal in life has always been to make a difference in the life of a child.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help your student or family!
