Southeast Families-

This is Eric Yarbrough, principal at Southeast Alamance High School.

As our students continue to grieve the loss of their classmates, please know that we will have support staff available at school for our students and staff to speak with if they need someone.  We will hold a candlelight vigil on Monday, March 4th at 7:30 pm in the Southeast Alamance High School courtyard.  You are all welcome to attend as we gather together to support one another and remember Brandyn and Aiden.

Congratulations to Coach Williamson and the varsity boys basketball team as they upset the number 5 seed in the NCHSAA State Tournament on Friday night.  With the win they advanced to the 3rd round and will play on Tuesday at Northwood High School.

Congratulations to Coach Sarratt and the varsity girls basketball team on a terrific season.  They played a great game on Friday against, but came up short against the number 1 seed, North Pitt High School.  Please congratulate these student athletes on a terrific season.

This week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week.  Therefore, on Monday we will hold a tornado drill at 11:25.  The purpose of this drill is to ensure that students and staff know where to go in the event that we were to experience a tornado.  We anticipate that this drill will be completed by 11:35.

This week is also National School Social Work Week!  We are blessed to have Mrs. Reynolds as our School Social Worker at Southeast.  She does so much to support our students and families.  Please take time this week to let her know how much you appreciate all that she does to support our school community.

Just a reminder that there is no school for students on Tuesday as it is a teacher workday.  We are holding a breakfast for our teachers prior to beginning some professional development.  If you are interested in signing up to donate items or our breakfast then please click on the link below.  Donated items can be dropped off at school on Monday between 8:00 and 4:00 or on Tuesday morning between 7:30 and 8:30.

We will be offering Saturday School this semester for students that need extra support in their classes.  Our next Saturday School is scheduled for this Saturday, March 2nd from 9:00 until 12:00.  Parents and students can sign their child up to attend at the link below.  If you have any questions regarding Saturday School then please contact Mrs. Crumel at alexis_crumel@abss.k12.nc.us.

We will also be running an evening academy on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:15 to 6:30.  This is a great opportunity for your child to get some extra help if they need it.  Please contact Bo Williamson at brandon_williamson@abss.k12.nc.us to sign your child up for our Evening Academy.

Please fill out the form below if you are interested in receiving emails in regards to second semester, summer, and 2024-2025 drivers education courses.

Senior parents…if you have not ordered your child’s cap and gown please do so as soon as possible as the price will continue to increase.  You can order your cap and gown online at the link below.

We will hold our 2024 Junior/Senior Prom on May 4th at the Chairman's Retreat in Burlington.  Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased online.  The earlier you purchase tickets the cheaper they will cost.  If you are bringing someone from another school you will have to get a Prom Bid Form completed and turned it in to Ms. Miles in the Student Services Office by April 19th.

The district approved the calendar for the 24-25 school year at their BOE meeting earlier this week.  The approved calendar is linked below.

In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features.  Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up.  If you have any questions please reach out to us.

Breakfast and lunch are not free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the application linked below. Our school currently has a negative balance of $2700.  At the end of the year, our school will have to pay the negative balance.  Paying this money takes away important resources from other things that we may need at the school.  Please help us to pay down our negative balance by putting money in your child’s account or by applying for free or reduced meals.   The free or reduced application is available in the main office or you can fill out the online application at https://www.lunchapplication.com/.

You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
