Southeast Families-

This is Eric Yarbrough, principal at Southeast Alamance High School.  I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend.

Congratulations to Mrs. Isley and the chorus and Mr. Hatley and the band for their wonderful winter concerts that they put on this past week.  Both the band and the chorus sounded amazing.

This week is a short week with just a three day week.  Students can participate in a Holiday Spirit Week as we celebrate the upcoming holiday season.

  • Monday - Holiday Pajama Day

  • Tuesday - Favorite Holiday Character Day

  • Wednesday - Ugly or Tacky Holiday Sweater Day

Our Key Club and Student Council are working together to collect canned foods to go to a local food pantry.  If you would like to donate canned foods or non perishable items, please send them to school by December 19th.

We will begin our fall semester final exams on January 10th.  Please note that final exams will count as 20% of your child’s final grade in their course.  Please take a minute to review the final exam schedule.  If you have any questions then please let us know.

Over the Holiday Break we will host a Men’s and Women’s Varsity basketball tournament.  The Holiday Hoopla tournament will take place on December 28, 29, and 30.  Please make plans to come out and support them.  Check out the brackets here

The ABSS school board voted to revise the student calendar.  March 5th will now become a RequiredT Workday and February 21st and March 13th (former early release days) will now become full student days. The new student calendar is linked below.

In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features.  Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up.  If you have any questions please reach out to us.

Breakfast and lunch are not free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the application linked below. Our school currently has a negative balance of $3,500.  At the end of the year, our school will have to pay the negative balance.  Paying this money takes away important resources from other things that we may need at the school.  Please help us to pay down our negative balance by putting money in your child’s account or by applying for free or reduced meals.   The free or reduced application is available in the main office or you can fill out the online application at https://www.lunchapplication.com/.

You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
