Southeast Families-

This is Eric Yarbrough, principal at Southeast Alamance High School.  I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend.

Congratulations to Coach Aguilar and our football team on their win on Friday night over Martin County in the 1st Round of the NCHSAA State Playoffs.  This Friday, the team will travel to Cummings HS for their 2nd Round game.  Please make plans to come out and support our football team.

Congratulations as well to Mr. Hatley and the Marching Stallions.   Our Marching Stallions traveled to North Davidson High School on Saturday to compete in the Fall Festival of Bands. They competed against 5 other bands in their classification and brought home the following awards.

  • 2nd Place Colorguard

  • 2nd Place Percussion

  • 2nd Place Marching and Maneuvering

  • 2nd Place General Effects

  • 2nd Place Music

  • 2nd Place Overall in Class A

Congratulations to freshman, Elise Westbrook, as she competed in the NCHSAA Cross Country State Championship on Saturday.  Elise finished 72nd in the state and she was the 14th best freshman in the state.  Our cross country team has a bright future with Elise and others leading the way.  Thank you to Coach Lafuria for all his hard work with this team.

Are you ready to learn new workplace skills, jump into a stable career, and become a leader? Join the growing number of ABSS students and graduates who are creating a bright future at local companies that have a vision for building a talented workforce. Come out to the Media Center on Tuesday, November 7th at 6:00 to meet with Career Accelerator Partners and current Apprentices to find out about the opportunities available for current students.

We are excited to welcome a few college admissions representatives to Southeast during WIN Time. If you would like to learn more about East Carolina University, students can sign up through their Cohort Canvas Page.  ECU will be here on November 8th.

First quarter report cards were emailed to parents via document delivery on Friday afternoon.  If you did not receive your child’s report card by email on Friday then please make sure that we have your correct email address in Powerschool.  If you would like a hard copy of the report card then please contact Tyisha Cobb at tyisha_cobb@abss.k12.nc.us.

Please remember that there is no school for staff or students on Friday as we observe the Veteran’s Day Holiday.

In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features.  Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up.  If you have any questions please reach out to us.

Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.com/

You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
