This is Eric Yarbrough, principal at Southeast Alamance High School. I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend.
Just a reminder that Monday, October 30th is a regular school day for students.
Congratulations to Coach LaFuria and our cross country teams. They both had great seasons and concluded their season on Saturday at the regional cross country meet in Cary. However, we do have one runner, Elise Westbrook, that qualified for the NCHSAA State Championship meet on Saturday at Ivey Redmon Park in Kernersville. Congratulations to Elise!
Congratulations to Coach Brooks and our soccer team that finished up their season with a 15 - 6 record. They will travel to Washington HS on Monday to play in the 1st round of the NCHSAA state playoffs. The soccer team will be dismissed at 12:15 on Monday. Please wish them good luck as they travel down east for their game on Monday.
Finally, congratulations to Coach Aguilar and our football team that finished up their season with a 6-4 record. They will travel to Martin County High School on Friday to play in the 1st round of the NCHSAA state playoffs.
Halloween is on Tuesday and we are asking that students not wear costumes to school on Tuesday. Please help us with this on Tuesday.
We are excited to welcome a few college admissions representatives to Southeast during WIN Time. If you would like to learn more about UNCG or ECU, students can sign up through their Cohort Canvas Page. UNCG will be here on November 1st and ECU will be here on November 8th.
This Thursday, November 2nd we will hold make-up picture day. This make-up picture day is for any 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade student to have their picture taken for the yearbook. Seniors that did not have their picture taken this summer will have the opportunity to have their formal picture taken. There is no sitting fee for the pictures. The make-up picture day schedule is linked below.
We will be sending out report cards on Friday, November 3rd. Report cards will be emailed to parents via document delivery. It is important that we have your correct email address in Powerschool so that you can be sure to receive that report card. If you would like a hard copy of the report card then please contact Tyisha Cobb at tyisha_cobb@abss.k12.nc.us.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up. If you have any questions please reach out to us.
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.com/
