Last Monday night, the ABSS Board of Education voted to make changes to the school calendar. These changes will allow us to make up the required time that was missed because of the delayed start. Please see the link below for the updated calendar.
We are excited to announce that we will hold our first ever Homecoming during the Week of October 16th. We will hold a Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 21st. Tickets to dance will go on sale later this week. Students that want to bring a guest from another school will need to complete a guest form that must be completed before their guest can attend. The forms will be available in the Student Support Office. Information about other Homecoming activities will be announced later this week.
ABSS will be holding an ABSS University which will give parents opportunities to learn about everything the district has to offer. The event will take place on Monday, October 16th at Cummings High School. The NC Governor's School Information Session will be held in conjunction with the ABSS Family University. This session will be delivered during the SECOND session time slot (6:50-7:30). Our Herff Jones representative will be on campus this Friday during all lunches to take cap and gown orders from seniors. If you have any questions you can contact the Herff Jones office at (336)228-7770.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Please let us know if we can help you.
Parking Permits are now available for the 23-24 School Year. They cost $30 and they are nonrefundable. Parking permits will be on sale all year so if your child will get their license later this year, you can buy a permit once they have their license. Please click the link below to purchase a parking permit for the 23-24 school year. Students that have applied for the parking permit and paid the $30 fee, can pick up their pass in the main office any day this week between 9:00 and 3:00.
Just a reminder that ABSS has a clear bag policy for all athletic events. Please make sure that if you plan to bring a bag into any athletic event the bag must be clear. Thank you in advance for your help with this policy.
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.com/
