Southeast Families-
This is Eric Yarbrough, principal at Southeast Alamance High School. I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. There are a few things that I need your help with.
Please make sure that you students are on time to school. We begin 1st period at 8:45, which means all car riders and student drivers need to be at school by 8:40 in the morning. We are still working to ensure that all bus riders are on campus by 8:40.
Please make sure that students are adhering to our cell phone policy. Student can be on their phones during class changes and at lunch, but they should not be on them during class time. If students are on their cell phones during class and their teacher asks them for their phone then students are to give up their cell phone for the remainder of the class period. Failure to give up their cell phone will result in a two-day suspension from school.
Outside food is not allowed in our cafeteria. So if you bring your child food during the day, please make sure that it is from home and not an outside restaurant.

This week we will begin our WIN Time. WIN Time is a 30 minute intervention and enrichment period where students can attend club meetings, attend a study hall, or receive small group tutoring in one of their classes. Our students will receive an email each morning with where they should report for WIN time on that day. It is very important that students use this time productively. Please check in with your child about what they do each day during our WIN Time. To learn more about WIN Time, please check out the SEHS website.
This Thursday is Underclassman Picture Day. Students will go to the auditorium during their scheduled time to have their picture taken. We will send out ordering information after the pictures are taken.
On Tuesday during WIN Time our seniors will attend a presentation with our Herff Jones representative about ordering graduation materials such as their cap and gown. I will send this information out to all seniors and their parents after the meeting for anyone that cannot attend. On Tuesday night, we will hold our Senior Parent Night in the auditorium at 6:00. Please make plans to attend this important presentation.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Please let us know if we can help you.
Parking Permits are now available for the 23-24 School Year. They cost $30 and they are nonrefundable. Parking permits will be on sale all year so if your child will get their license later this year, you can buy a permit once they have their license. Please click the link below to purchase a parking permit for the 23-24 school year. Students that have applied for the parking permit and paid the $30 fee, can pick up their pass in the main office any day this week between 9:00 and 3:00.
Just a reminder that ABSS has a clear bag policy for all athletic events. Please make sure that if you plan to bring a bag into any athletic event the bag must be clear. Thank you in advance for your help with this policy.
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.com/
