Today's virtual learning tip: communicate with teachers! Teachers want to help you but they are not mind readers. It is especially important to communicate when you need help with something. If you have a question, reach out by sending a message during synchronous class. You can also send teachers an email or ask a question during intervention time. The sooner you ask for help, the better. Don't wait - reach out to your teacher as soon as possible when you need help.

Meet this week’s staff member: Erica Johnson! She is the data manager at at AVS. Did you know that Ms. Johnson’s favorite school subject was dance? If she could travel anywhere, she would go to Bali. Her favorite tradition is movie night at home in her den. Ms. Johnson chose to work at AVS because she wanted to try something different. She wanted to be one of the first in the district to do what we're doing at AVS! Thanks Ms. Johnson for all you do at AVS! Tune in next Monday to meet the next AVS team member!

Meet this week’s teacher: Mr. Moore! He is a health and PE teacher at AVS. It’s no surprise that Mr. Moore’s favorite subject when he was a student was PE! If he could travel anywhere in the world, he would go to Dubai. In his free time, he likes to dance and watch live sports. Mr. Moore chose to work at AVS because it is a great opportunity to teach students that want to learn and enjoy being in school. His favorite part of teaching at AVS is seeing the students participate in class and not being shy to try something different. Thanks Mr. Moore for all you do at AVS! Tune in next Monday to meet the next AVS team member!

I feel out of all my years in high school, enrolling into the virtual school really helped improve my learning and focus on my grades in school. The teachers are more hands on with the work and grades and with helping students than I experienced with the in-person school. I think with doing virtual makes learning more of a priority and easier because everybody gets along and pays attention, so the teachers can actually do their job and be able to help students progress."]
