Throughout Black History Month, HRE lion cubs learned about historically Black Colleges and Universities, we learned a fact each morning about famous African American who made contributions to our nation and today we had a parade and learned about the influence of African Americans through music. Today wraps up the month with the 5th grade African American Wax Museum.

Tomorrow, Wednesday January 22, is a workday for teachers. There is no school. Stay warm and safe. Mañana miércoles 22 de enero es día de trabajo para los docentes. No hay clases. Mantente abrigado y seguro

Debido a las bajas temperaturas pronosticadas para esta noche y la posibilidad de que haya zonas aisladas con hielo en las carreteras, todas las escuelas y oficinas de ABSS operarán con un retraso de 2 horas para los estudiantes y el personal mañana, martes 7 de enero. Due to the low temperatures predicted this evening and the potential for isolated icy spots on the roads, all ABSS schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay for students and staff tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7. This means buses and schools will run two hours later than their normal start times. There is no change to the afternoon dismissal.

Our wonderful cafeteria and front office staff have joined forces to provide gifts for one of our own Lion Cubs. It was a sweet moment at Haw River Elementary today. It will be a great holiday for this family. Thank you all for your support. Have a happy winter break!

What a fabulous Friday it has been at Haw River! Staff were treated with donuts from Hospitality in the morning and cheese etc from PTO in the afternoon. We ended the raffle and had 3 winners! 3rd place: Domaris 2nd place: Daniel M. 1st place TV: Jessica C Thank you to Summit Church of Alamance County for the tables!
