ABEC’s Cobra Collaborative kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week with a bang! What an honor it is to celebrate teachers this week. Our breakfast was a wonderful start to a week full of treats!
The Key Club hosted its annual “Hunger Games” canned food drive the past couple of weeks! They donated 1074 cans to S.A.F.E today! Way to go Cobras!!
Guest speaker Alex Hale is speaking today about strategic communications, media, and the importance of internships and storytelling. He was one of 12 "hotdoggers" hired to drive the wienermobile for Oscar Meyer across the country in 2019. He got his resume seen by shipping Oscar Meyer a box of salami with his branding and marketing that had his resume taped on top. He now works for Butterball Turkey in marketing communications.

They showcased their poise and professionalism in front of volunteer interviewers from our amazing #ABSSCommunity. 👏

The Alamance-Burlington Early College (ABEC) is an incredible learning community whose motto is "Individually driven, better together." This close-knit family of Cobras 🐍 comprises students from all zones of the school district, bringing diverse perspectives to every class. At ABEC, learning takes place at the highest level, with students persevering and striving for personal growth through the collaborative spirit between teachers and students. The care and compassion shown within the ABEC community and towards others is exceptional.
This year, ABEC students and staff initiated the P.A.L.S mentoring program, provided school supplies to elementary schools, organized a speaker series, volunteered at community events, participated in food drives, and more. Remarkably, these driven Cobras excel academically while balancing jobs, service, athletics, extracurriculars, and other commitments. ABEC is the real deal, a special place where students and faculty rally together to achieve greatness.
