Good Evening Williams Community!
Below are important announcements for the week ahead.
Tomorrow, Monday, October 17, 2022, is an Early Release Day for students. School will dismiss at 12:45 pm.
In North Carolina, all tenth-graders take the PreACT. This assessment measures what students have learned in their courses and helps educators identify the information that students still need to learn to succeed in college or a career. On Wednesday, October 19th, 10th graders at Williams will take the PreACT via paper-and-pencil. The PreACT simulates the ACT testing experience by providing students early exposure to ACT test-quality questions. The PreACT is designed to help parents and educators identify areas where students may need additional academic support or remediation. It can also help to initiate conversations between parents and schools regarding dual enrollment decisions, identifying curriculum gaps, implementing interventions on behalf of students, and choosing Advanced Placement classes. Please contact the school if you have questions or concerns about the PreACT. Students from all grade levels must report to school on this day. We will have a section of the school blocked off for the 10th graders to test in a quiet environment.
The NC Governor's School Information Session for Parents and Students will be held Tuesday, October 18th at the ABSS Central Services Office in the Professional Library from 6 pm- 7 pm. More information about this four-week summer residential program for gifted and talented 11th and 10th graders in the performing/visual arts area was emailed to 11th graders on Monday, October 10th, and posted on the Williams' School Counseling page under Quick Links. Don’t miss this opportunity if interested.
Check out the Brick Paver Fundraiser information under the Parent Organizations area of the school website. PTSO’s Brick Paver Fundraiser is a lasting way to cement your legacy in the foundation of the Williams High School community.
