GHS Family, I would like to take a moment to share with you the recipients of our Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year awards, here at GHS. These awards were the results of votes that were received from peers. The 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year is Mr. Christian Beltran. Mr. Beltran has been with us here at Graham High School for 4-years. He is a resident of the C-Building and teaches Spanish here. Mr. Beltran is always willing to help his peers when they are in need and also never hesitates to chip in, whenever assistance is needed. The staff of Graham High School recognize this and that is why the award is appropriate. The Classified Employee of the Year is once again Ms. Emily Lugo. Ms. Lugo was the recipient of this award last year as well. Whenever parents, students or visitors enter the Main Office of Graham High School, Ms. Lugo is usually the first person that they see. Her mellow voice and helpful smile make our GHS family and guests feel welcome. Holding down the front desk is no easy task, as people need you in-person along with personnel calling the school. Ms. Lugo is able to handle a variety of situations and we are fortunate to have her with us. Congratulations to both of you, Mr. Beltran and Ms. Lugo. Graham High School is proud of you. And as always, everyday is a great day to be a Red Devil.

GHS Family, Last night was a busy night for a Graham High School staff member. Monday night, Ms. Karen Carotta was present to receive the ABSS star employee for the month of January. Later on that night, the ABSS Board of Education approved the appointment of Ms. Karen Carotta, as the new Pre Collegiate Academy coordinator. Ms. Carotta has been at Graham HS for the past 8 years. She serves as the advisor for the National Honor Society and the Peer Group Connection program. Ms. Carotta will immediately begin in this new role as the acceptance window for ABSS specialty programs is in full swing. Congratulations Ms. Carotta. Everyday is a great day to be a Red Devil.

He is the type of student who always does the right thing even when no one is looking. He truly personifies the I (integrity) in Grove Park behavior PBIS PRIDE matrix." 🌠 From Principal Brown - "Ms. Karen Carotta is a staple representative at Graham High School. She is the advisor for the National Honor Society and Peer Group Connections. Through her commitment to students, and community, Ms. Carotta organized a blood drive in November. New PTO Sneakerball Update!

GHS PTO Sneakerball
Good afternoon GHS families, This is Principal Joshua Brown with some important announcements. Tomorrow, January 12th, is the first day of our state testing exams. The following courses will test. English 2, Math 1, Foods & Nutrition 1 and 2 along with Principles of Family and Human Services. Students, all final exams must be taken for you to successfully complete the course. Not only do EOC/CTE exams account for 20% of a students final grade, it is also a part of our overall school letter grade. Last year GHS received a school letter grade of a “D”. For all of us, this seems bad. To counter that, Graham High School recently received our state recognition from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, that our students met their projected academic growth. This validates that when students are at school, they are in fact learning and we are reaching our goals. A portion of our letter grade depends on student participation in these important state tests. With this, we need your help to make sure your son or daughter arrives at Graham High School on time at 8:45 AM, for their test. Students, we want you to do your best. Make sure that you get a good night's sleep tonight. Arrive on time tomorrow. Go to the cafeteria and grab breakfast. Remember that you have worked hard this semester and now is your time to prove it. Thank you, parents and students for being game changers. We cannot do this alone. As always, everyday is a great day to be a Red Devil. Lleguen a tiempo mañana. No podemos hacerlo solos.
