OPT-IN: Panorama Surveys https://forms.gle/Bcb3E8q1vTS5Dn4Z7 Dear Graham High School Families, Alamance Burlington Schools System has a strong focus on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), a framework that develops life skills. Research tells us that building skills of resilience can assist our students in navigating the many challenges they will encounter in life, now and in the future. ABSS values input from our students, which provides important information to help guide and plan instruction. Graham High School is seeking your permission to allow your student to participate and answer SEL questions using the online survey, which will be administered during the school day. This survey will take approximately 15 minutes. We are partnering with Panorama, a third-party vendor, who provides valuable SEL resources, lessons, and videos to administer these surveys. The surveys will include questions about: self awareness self-management social awareness social skills decision-making Student information (name, date of birth, grade and I.D. #) is used for identification purposes only and is kept confidential. Please find here the survey questions students will be asked. Parents can always request a copy of their students' survey responses. Please complete the bottom portion of the form and return it to school. Paper copies of the consent form will also be available in our main office. GHS Family, I would like to take a moment to share with you the recipients of our Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year awards, here at GHS. These awards were the results of votes that were received from peers. The 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year is Mr. Christian Beltran. Mr. Beltran has been with us here at Graham High School for 4-years. He is a resident of the C-Building and teaches Spanish here. Mr. Beltran is always willing to help his peers when they are in need and also never hesitates to chip in, whenever assistance is needed. The staff of Graham High School recognize this and that is why the award is appropriate. The Classified Employee of the Year is once again Ms. Emily Lugo. Ms. Lugo was the recipient of this award last year as well. Whenever parents, students or visitors enter the Main Office of Graham High School, Ms. Lugo is usually the first person that they see. Her mellow voice and helpful smile make our GHS family and guests feel welcome. Holding down the front desk is no easy task, as people need you in-person along with personnel calling the school. Ms. Lugo is able to handle a variety of situations and we are fortunate to have her with us. Congratulations to both of you, Mr. Beltran and Ms. Lugo. Graham High School is proud of you. And as always, everyday is a great day to be a Red Devil.
