Gator parents-- As most of you are aware we share bus drivers with Hawfields and we are short drivers for tomorrow. Please note the following changes: Bus 6--substitute driver Bus 69--substitute driver Bus 43--having to run a double route-bus 6 will drive a second route which will shift bus 43 pick up times by 30 minutes later also having a substitute driver. Please make sure you are at your assigned stop on time and visible for the driver. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience on Friday morning. Tomorrow is the ABSS county deadline to have your child registered for the bus for the 2023-2024 school year. As a reminder this is done in your Parent PowerSchool Portal. If you need assistance accessing your account or completing this from please call the school and speak with Ms. Riley or come into the office and we will work with you to get this complete. Previous reminder In order for your child(ren) to receive bus transportation on the 1st day of school, for the 2023-2024 school year they MUST have their information updated by May 1 in PowerSchool. Please see the attached flyer for additional information (English and Spanish versions are attached). Thank you to our parents for making sure this completed by the district deadline. If you need assistance please call the school or come into the office and we will work with you to get this complete. Teacher Appreciation Week at Garrett begins tomorrow!! We are excited to celebrate our staff throughout the week. The forecast predicts 90% chance of rain almost all day on Friday. In order to let the vendors know and ensure that Garrett’s PTO annual Spring Fling is a success, the PTO has decided to postpone the annual Spring Fling until FRIDAY, JUNE 2nd! 🐊 Gator Families 🐊 We have a very special week coming up...May 1st-May 5th is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week!! This is our opportunity to show the Gator 🐊 staff some love and appreciation for all of their hard work so far this year. Sneak Peak… Our very creative PTO executive board, and some super awesome parent volunteers have outdone themselves this afternoon. These ladies worked until after 6 o’clock, to make sure when our gators entered the building, they were amazed and transported right into Australia. Don’t forget to wear your GREEN and GOLD, the national colors of Australia tomorrow as we all enjoy this amazing celebration! A big thank you to these ladies, our encore teachers, staff, and our classroom teachers for all of the hard work, time, and dedication that they have put in to planning an amazing A+ All About Australia multicultural celebration day tomorrow!

TOMORROW is Garrett's A+ Multicultural Curriculum Celebration…All About Australia! This day-long celebration is going to be amazing and we hope that you can join us! Parents and family members are invited to spend the day enjoying all of the special events, crafts, activities, and lunch with your child. During the time in the classroom, teachers will be leading students through various crafts that represent Australia including animals, some history, or something unique you can find in Australia. As you can imagine any help during this time would be appreciated by the teachers. Please let your child's teacher know if you are able to help in the classroom. Throughout the day all students will enjoy a special live presentation, The Didgeridoo Down Under. A show presenting an energetic fusion of Australian music, culture, art, science, literacy development, comedy, character building, anti-bullying, motivational speaking, and audience participation. We can’t wait for you to see the students show off their special talents with short student presentations focused around either PE, music, or theater centered, of course, on Australia. Our amazing cafeteria has worked to prepare an Australian-themed lunch for everyone to enjoy during the day. We invite family members to join their students during their special lunchtime, for either: Aussie Beef Pie, Fish-n-chips, or Chicken-Off-the-Barbie (chicken nugget) Salad. Vegetables and Fruit choices include Fries or Green Peas and Granny Smith apple or mixed fruit. Adult prices are as follows: Entrees-$2.00 each Vegetables or Fruits-$0.75 cents each Milk-$0.50 cents each Tea and Lemonade (adults only)-$1.00 To close out the day, everyone will showcase their fantastic artwork during our school-wide parade which we encourage everyone to enjoy! We are so excited to include our families in this culminating event where we will be showcasing our A+ Multicultural Curriculum Celebration…All About Australia, tomorrow, Friday, April 21st.
