I am ready to ROCK the 2024-2025 school year at Garrett Elementary! I can't wait for our rocking students to return after this well-deserved summer break. All of our students worked hard last year and it showed! We are ready to rock-n-roll for this upcoming school year! Over the past years, I have enjoyed watching the students grow and learn each and every day! I have worked on developing relationships with the Garrett families and seen many Gators leave and new Gators arrive at the swamp. Our teachers, faculty, parents, PTO members, community members, students, and administration are all valuable stakeholders in the Garrett family. I truly believe that if we ALL work hard together we can help to ensure that each and every student ROCKS this school year meeting their fullest potential each day. We have a committed staff dedicated to making this school year ROCK!! We hope that you, the Garrett families, will join in and continue to help us ROCK to offer every opportunity to all the students at Garrett.

Ms. O’Neal

Where was Ms. O’Neal before she came to Garrett? I began my educational career after earning my Elementary Education degree from Mars Hill College in the mountains of North Carolina. I taught in Person County before I decided to leave the classroom to begin my administrative career by interning with Durham Public Schools. After completing my Masters in School Administration from North Carolina Central University I moved to Catawba County where I served as an assistant principal. After deciding to move back to my hometown, I found my new home here at Garrett Elementary.

I am extremely proud to be an active member here of this ROCKIN’ Garrett staff and as a Gator I will continue to work hard to ensure that every child has the best educational experience that he or she possibly can have. We hope that you and your child will become part of our community by ROCKIN actively throughout the school year by attending parent conferences, PTO events, MTSS parent meetings, volunteering in the classroom, helping in the lunchroom during duty-free lunches, checking your child's book bag nightly, looking at their grades on PowerSchool, and working with your child at home. The Garrett faculty works closely together to ROCK each day by meeting the diverse individual needs of all our students every day. We hope you will find your child as a part of our school family, and they will ROCK out his/her educational experience here at Garrett Elementary School.
