This is your Proud Principal, Mr. Garrett, with some important announcements for the week of November 18th, 2024.
Monday, November 18th, our 8th grade students will go on their much anticipated field trip to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. Students attending the field trip are reminded to please report to their home rooms by 8:30 am so that we can take attendance and begin loading up our buses at 8:45 am.
The district will have a High School Speciality Parent Meeting on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 at 6:00 pm in the Media Center. The meeting will focus on all speciality programs available to high school students including Alamance-Burlington Early College at ACC, and IB Programs. 8th grade students will receive information on Tuesday afternoon and are encouraged to attend the meeting with their parents on Tuesday evening at 6 pm to hear more information about high school options.
This week we will begin taking out 1st round of NC Check-ins. The Check-Ins provide valuable data on how students are responding to current content standards. Check-ins will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday for Reading and Math, with make-ups on Thursday for any student that miss a test. We encourage students to get plenty of rest and focus on doing their best on the Check-ins, as the data will help drive instructional and remediation plans in the weeks to come.
