I hope you had a restful and relaxing weekend. Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is a Teacher Workday, so there is no school for students. Enjoy the day off, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in the building on Tuesday for the start of the 2nd Quarter!
PTO:
Thanks so much to everyone who participated in the Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser. Winners are as follows: we had a tie for homeroom winners: 8th grade is Wells and 7th grade is Barnes. Their pizza parties will be on Monday, November 4.
We are extending the car rider raffle to October 31st! The PTO will be walking the car rider line in the afternoon.
We are looking for donations of candy, gatorade, sour candy, hot fries & water for our Braves Day on Friday, November 1st. Can't donate goods? Please come in and help us run our concession stand. You can volunteer in one hour shifts. We need two pop up tents. Students will only be allowed to purchase five items at $1 per item. High School Speciality Program Meeting:
Families of 8th grade students are invited to learn about the ABSS High School Speciality Programs on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:00 pm at Western Middle School. Representatives from the Alamance Burlington Early College, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, and the Pre-Collegiate Academy will present information and answer any questions that you might have about each option for high school.
8th Grade Career Development Plan:
Recent state legislation requires all 8th graders to participate in career exploration activities and create a preliminary Career Development Plan. A letter detailing the initiative will go home with 8th graders next week.
7th Grade Students:
Parents of 7th grade students are required to OPT IN or OUT to have vision screening completed at school. Please log into your parent account in Powerschool. Under the forms tab, complete the vision screening permission form. These must be completed by October 31st (10/31).
