Questions about curriculum, testing, or student progress?

If you have questions about the curriculum, don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher.

If you would like your student tested or have questions about student testing, please contact the principal or assistant principal.

If you feel your child performs at “substantially high levels of accomplishment when compared with others of their age,” you may refer your child to be screened by the AIG Committee at your child’s school. Parents may refer their child/children to the AIG committee through a written request to the principal stating why their child should be considered for screening, with details and/or examples that show a need for differentiated gifted services. Click HERE for an overview and instructions. Parent referrals are due to the PRINCIPAL before Thanksgiving Break. If you have specific questions about this process, please reach out to our AIG teacher, Ms. Burke (Lisa_Burke@abss.k12.nc.us)

If you would like to discuss your child's progress or review their assessments, please contact your child's teacher or administration.

Tutoring & Academic Assistance

If you would like your child to have additional assistance after school, please reach out to the principal. While afterschool support is not part of the teacher's responsibility, many teachers are open to working with students outside their daily hours for a tutoring fee. The principal can help parents connect to willing teachers or staff members to best support the child's needs.
