We are excited to be planning Highland's second annual Parade of Diverse Cultures! The parade will take place Tuesday, April 4 at 10:00am. During last week's early release day, students gathered in the gym during Specials to learn more about Mardi Gras. Students were able to color and create their own masks as well as listen to a book about Mardi Gras. #HighlandHighlight

During today's workday, teachers are learning and collaborating about small groups and the alignment to LETRS. #AlwaysLearning

It's a home run having @ElonBaseball players from @elonuniversity come work with our 3rd graders. Students were so engaged and excited! We look forward to having them come visit and help our students learn and grow. #HighlandHighlight



2nd grade students got to learn more about Ghana and it's culture from one of our parents. Mr. Duodu spoke about the flag from Ghana and the meaning of its colors. He and his family also brought in many handmade items including instruments that he played. Students were given an opportunity to show their musical talents on the instruments as well. #HighlandHighlight

5th and 1st grade learning Buddies experimented with different types of paper to make the best paper airplane. Students then tested their planes to see how they flew. So good to see our students working together. #HighlandHighlight

The #100thDayOfSchool is our #HighlandHighlight. Lots of "100" special activities taking place around school today. Some students dressed up like they were 100 years old, brought in 100 items and some did a 100 "workout". #100DaysSmarter
