He is diligent and exemplifies a strong work ethic. 🌠 Ms. Rivera embodies kindness and dedication through her exceptional efforts supporting newcomer students. Volunteering twice weekly for after-school tutoring, Ms. Rivera fosters meaningful relationships and partners with colleagues to organize impactful community-building events like the monthly "Newcomer Socials." Her compassionate support and warm demeanor create an ideal environment for academic growth and English language development among newly arrived students. Holt Elementary School students have been having a blast dressing up as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters. From the Cat in the Hat to Thing 1 and Thing 2, the school is filled with whimsical characters from the beloved children's books. We encourage everyone to grab a book and join the fun by reading for at least 10 minutes today. Big congratulations to our 3 award winners from Saturday's Region 5 Science Fair! 🎉 We had 2 students receive Honorable Mentions and 1 student earn the coveted Exemplary Award. 🌟 Gunner Martin from E.M. Holt Elementary won the Elementary Exemplary Award for his project. He will be advancing to represent our region at the State Science Fair on March 23. Way to go, Gunner! 🌟 Maggie Tyree from E.M. Holt Elementary received an Honorable Mention in the Elementary division for her outstanding project. Excellent job, Maggie! 🌟 Gabriel C. Calderon from Cummings High School earned an Honorable Mention in the Senior Chemistry category. Great work, Gabriel! We are so proud of all our young scientists. Save the Date! 🗓️ Join us for a fun and informative evening at the last Family University of the year, January 29th at Cummings High School! 🌟 A light dinner will be provided at no cost to families before you choose from many useful sessions on topics like registering for high school courses, career and technical education opportunities, and elementary reading and math strategies. Several sessions will also be available in Spanish (Algunas sesiones también estarán disponibles en español.) Childcare will be available for children from Pre-K to 5th grade, so the whole family can participate. The Family University is a great chance to get helpful information while connecting with other families and teachers. We hope to see you there - don't miss this valuable opportunity to support your student's growth and education!
