This week is School Social Worker Week. Please join me in thanking Mr. Holmgren for all he does to help our students and families.
This week is also Read Across America Week.
Monday, March 3rd is dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character or in Seussical colors. On Monday, all students will be provided a book from Rotary Reads. We will be hosting Family PE Night on Monday, March 3rd. Kindergarten through second grade will begin at 5pm and third through fifth grade will begin at 6pm.
Tuesday, March 4th is Roar for Reading so wear animal print on Tuesday. On Tuesday, students will be treated to a special animal presentation from Wild Tails NC. If you have not already returned your PTO animal presentation permission form please do so by Monday to ensure your child will be able to participate on Tuesday.
Wednesday, March 5th is Score with Reading so be sure to wear your favorite team gear. We will have special guest readers from Elon on Wednesday.
Thursday, March 6th is Thursday Joke Walk so wear a funny hat, glasses, or accessory and bring a school appropriate joke.
Friday, March 7th is Fairytale Friday so dress as heroes, villains, princesses or fairies.
We will end Read Across America Week on Thursday and Friday with a special frozen treat from Pelican's Snoballs.
On Saturday, March 8th ABSS will host the Kindergarten Fair at Holly Hill Mall from 9am-12pm for incoming kindergarten students for the 25-26 school year.
Here are a few general reminders:
Fourth and fifth grade students that are participating in Singing Wildcats should meet in the music room at 7:30 on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Please make sure that you go through the car line to drop off your students after 7:20.
Remember if your child is out that you need to submit an absence note using the link on the school website to upload your note. All students should be in class by 7:50.
For parents and visitors coming to have lunch please remember that outside food and drinks are not permitted in the cafeteria. Please be sure to go online and pay your child’s lunch balance online at https://www.k12paymentcenter.com/
Yearbooks are now on sale for $23. To order a yearbook, parents need to go to www.yearbookforever.com . Be sure to type in the school name, Holt and order from there.
