This week is School Social Worker Week. Please join us in thanking Mr. Holmgren for all that he does to support our students and families.
This week is Read Across America Week.
Monday, March 4th is Dr. Seuss Day so dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character.
Tuesday, March 5th is a teacher workday and there is no school.
Check-In testing begins on Wednesday, March 6th.
Wednesday is also Vocabulary Word Wednesday so dress as a school appropriate vocabulary word.
On Thursday,professional North Carolina storyteller Sharon Clarke will perform Tales and Tunes for the students.
The theme for Thursday and Friday are chill out and read. Students will have the opportunity to pick out a book at the book swap and to purchase a Kona ice for $5.
2nd, 4th and 5th will chill out on Thursday.
K, 1st and 3rd will chill out on Friday.
The end of the nine weeks is quickly approaching on March 28th so please be sure to monitor your child's progress, and make sure your child is on time and in attendance for school. We are working hard as a school to reach our attendance goal of 95%.
If your child is sick with a fever, please remember that they have to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.
Please use the absentee note button on our school website to submit a note any time that your child is absent. You should upload the excuse note within three days of your child’s absence.
Please be sure to monitor your child’s lunch balance and pay off any outstanding balances. You can fill out the free and reduced lunch form online at https://www.lunchapplication.com/ to see if your child qualifies for a reduced amount.
Looking ahead:
ABSS will hold the Kindergarten Fair at Holly Hill Mall on Saturday, March 9th for any incoming kindergarten students for the 24-25 school year.
Spring and group pictures are scheduled for Tuesday, March 26th.
