Good evening Eagle Families,
This is Principal Suzanne Simpson with your weekly updates. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are so fortunate at EAHS to have an amazing group of teachers! Please take a moment this week to email your student’s teacher(s) past or present to let them know how much you appreciate them for the work they do!
Congratulations to Mrs. Jackowski and all of our dancers who put on a fantastic show this afternoon. It was so impressive to see all that you have learned this semester on display!
Congratulations to Ainsley Dial and Trynton Wiley as they were crowned King and Queen at prom last night. Thank you to Mrs. Waters, Ms. Cannell and the Prom Committee for all of their hard work to make prom great!
We want to wish our Men’s Golf team (Jason Ball, Max Brehler, Gryffin Brehler, Hayden Wittington, Lance Crespo, and Anthony Saunders) good luck as they travel to Fayetteville tomorrow to play in the Regional Golf Tournament! They qualified by winning the conference tournament.
Ethan Alvis and Carter Malone, members of our Men’s Tennis team, qualified to play in regionals this past Friday. Way to go!
Also, congratulations to our girls softball team for winning the conference title!
We begin AP testing this week. The following tests will be administered on the date and time that is listed below. Please make sure that your child is at school on time in preparation for their exam.
Tuesday 5/7: AP Stats 12:00 pm
Wednesday 5/8: AP Lit 8:00 am
Thursday 5/9: AP Enviro Science 8:00 am; AP Psychology 12:00 pm
Friday 5/10: AP US History 8:00 am
Next Tuesday 5/14, members of our staff will take on the staff of Southeast in the first annual staff vs. staff basketball game. The game will be at 7:00 in the EA gym and will cost $5. All proceeds will go towards unpaid lunch debt for both schools. We hope you make plans to join us!
Seniors make sure you check your email. Some important information regarding senior events was sent.
We are offering 2 new classes next year: AP Seminar and AP Music Theory. Students were sent emails with more information. We encourage you to sign up.
We are currently 4 weeks away from the start of exams. As a reminder students can be exempt from teacher made exams if they meet the requirements in our Exam Exemption Policy. This is the spring exam schedule. If students have any questions about the exam schedule or need to reschedule an exam they will need to speak with their teacher.
We will continue to hold Saturday School and Evening Academy until exams. Please reach out to Mr. Hemminger at william_hemminger@abss.k12.nc.us in regards to Saturday school and Coach Walker at parrish_walker@abss.k12.nc.us for Evening Academy.
Our school currently has a negative lunch balance of $6400. At the end of the year, our school will have to pay the negative balance. Paying this money takes away important resources from other things that we may need at the school. Please help us to pay down our negative balance by putting money in your child’s account or by applying for free or reduced meals. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.com/ You can add money to your student’s lunch account online, by clicking this link. Students who have large outstanding lunch balances may not be able to participate in extracurricular activities.
Make sure you stay up to date with our daily announcements by listening to them during EAgle time. If you miss a day, you can always catch up on our channel here.
Seniors, we have a page on our website just for you! Check it out for the latest updates on all you need to know to navigate your senior year. Graduation will be June 8th, at 4:00 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up. If you have any questions please reach out to us.
