Good evening Eagle Families,
This is Principal Suzanne Simpson with your weekly updates. For this quarter, over 50% of our unexcused tardies are for first period. Parents please help us to encourage all students to get to class on time. Being in class on time means there is no lost instructional time. Our overall attendance rate is 90.3% with seniors still leading the way at 92.3%. Way to go seniors!
The outdoor picnic/patio area is closed during lunch time until further notice. All students are expected to remain inside the cafeteria during their scheduled lunch.
All students should report to homeroom tomorrow during EAgle time. We will use this time to roll out SmartPass, a digital hallpass system that is integrated with our Clever learning software. The pass allows students to check in and out when leaving class, so we know where students are at all times for safety and accountability. Though this will be an adjustment, we believe this change will foster a better learning environment by minimizing disruptions.
Students make sure that you are signed up for EAgle time this week.
Seniors, The Better FAFSA has opened and we want students to have help if they need it. Eastern will host Financial Aid Night on Monday, February 12th, 2024 from 5:30PM-7:00PM in the media center.
All juniors will take the ACT on February 27, 2024. Be on the lookout for more information soon from Mr. Hemminger.
Join us Friday night for our final regular season basketball games as we celebrate our senior cheerleaders, dancers, and basketball players.
The student registration portal in PowerSchool will be open through Monday evening for all rising 9th-12th grade students. During the next 2 months, the counselors will be meeting with all students to ensure that they are properly registered for the upcoming school year. Here are the instructions for students to access the course registration in Powerschool. To learn more about the registration process and opportunities for your child in the Alamance-Burlington School System please visit the High School Information page.
Any 10th-12th grader interested in being a Senate Page between April 29 - June 27, 2024 should click here for more information.
We will be administering the ASVAB test on Friday, February 29th to any 10th-12th grader who is interested. This is a great test for those planning to go into the military or who aren’t sure what they would like to do. Please use this link to sign up.
If you are interested, please fill out this form to receive emails in regards to second semester, summer, and 2024-2025 drivers ed courses.
Make sure you stay up to date with our daily announcements by listening to them during EAgle time. If you miss a day, you can always catch up on our channel here.
Seniors, we have a page on our website just for you! Check it out for the latest updates on all you need to know to navigate your senior year. Graduation will be June 8th, at 4:00 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up. If you have any questions please reach out to us.
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you either need to put money on their online account or secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. Our school currently has a negative lunch balance of almost $7000. At the end of the year, our school will have to pay the negative balance. Paying this money takes away important resources from other things that we may need at the school. Please help us to pay down our negative balance by putting money in your child’s account or by applying for free or reduced meals. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.c...
You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
