Good evening Eagle Families,
This is Principal Suzanne Simpson with your weekly updates. I hope that you have had an enjoyable weekend. This week we will start our end of semester testing. This is a time for students to demonstrate their knowledge acquired during the semester.
We will have EAgle time on Monday and Tuesday only this week. Please make sure to select sessions for both days.
Wednesday and Thursday we will run the No Eagle Time Schedule to allow for teacher made exams to occur. If a student is exempt from a teacher-made exam, they are still expected to attend their other classes. On these days students will receive valuable review in their EOC and CTE classes.
Friday, all students in Math 1, Biology, and English 2 will take their End of Course Exams.
As a reminder, Monday, January 15th, there will be no school in observance of Martin Luther King, Junior day. We will resume exams on Tuesday with a variety of CTE testing, followed by the Math 3 EOC on Wednesday. The full exam schedule can be found here. Please make every effort to be in attendance and on time these days.
Congratulations to Ms. Jackowski and all of our dancers for a fantastic winter performance. On Wednesday our wrestling team will celebrate Senior Night. Make plans to come out and support them.
On Saturday, January 13th students have the opportunity to attend Saturday School from 8:30-12:00. This is a time for students to complete missing work and/or prepare for an upcoming exam. Here is the registration link.
As a reminder, in the mornings before school you should be in one of 3 places. The media center, the gym or the cafeteria. You should not be wandering around campus. The media center and gym open daily at 8:15. The cafeteria opens earlier to accommodate our bus riders who arrive on campus early.
Students, there are many of you who have not turned in your technology user agreement. These forms are available in the media center. Please get this taken care of ASAP.
Make sure you stay up to date with our daily announcements by listening to them during EAgle time. If you miss a day, you can always catch up on our channel here.
Seniors, we have a page on our website just for you! Check it out for the latest updates on all you need to know to navigate your senior year. Go ahead and order your cap and gown before the price goes up in December. Graduation will be June 8th, at 4:00 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up. If you have any questions please reach out to us.
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. Our school currently has a negative lunch balance of $6000. At the end of the year, our school will have to pay the negative balance. Paying this money takes away important resources from other things that we may need at the school. Please help us to pay down our negative balance by putting money in your child’s account or by applying for free or reduced meals. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.com/
You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
