Good evening Eagle Families,
This is Principal Suzanne Simpson with your weekly updates. I hope that each of you had a safe and enjoyable break. We are excited to welcome you back to campus tomorrow.
There are only a few days until the end of the first semester. We will begin teacher-made exams on January 10th followed by EOC/CTE testing. Please note that final exams will count as 20% of your child’s final grade in their course. Please take a minute to review the Fall Exam Schedule. If you have any questions then please let us know.
Take a minute to check your child’s grades online. The second quarter grading period will count 40% of your child’s final grade in the course.
As a reminder, in the mornings before school you should be in one of 3 places. The media center, the gym or the cafeteria. You should not be wandering around campus. The media center and gym open daily at 8:15. The cafeteria opens earlier to accommodate our bus riders who arrive on campus early.
Students, please make sure that you sign up for EAgle time this week.
Students, there are many of you who have not turned in your technology user agreement. These forms are available in the media center. Please get this taken care of ASAP.
Make sure you stay up to date with our daily announcements by listening to them during EAgle time. If you miss a day, you can always catch up on our channel here.
Seniors, we have a page on our website just for you! Check it out for the latest updates on all you need to know to navigate your senior year. Go ahead and order your cap and gown before the price goes up in December. Graduation will be June 8th, at 4:00 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse.
Yearbooks are now on sale for their lowest price. You can purchase one here.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up. If you have any questions please reach out to us.
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. Our school currently has a negative lunch balance of $6000. At the end of the year, our school will have to pay the negative balance. Paying this money takes away important resources from other things that we may need at the school. Please help us to pay down our negative balance by putting money in your child’s account or by applying for free or reduced meals. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.com/
You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
