Good evening Eagle Families,

This is Principal Suzanne Simpson with your weekly updates.  I hope each of you had a restful Thanksgiving break.  We have just 25 days until the first semester is over and we begin exams. Teacher made exams will begin on January 10th, with EOC/CTE exams following. A detailed schedule will be shared soon.

The ABSS school board voted this week to revise the student calendar.  March 5th, 2024 will now become a Required Workday and February 21st, 2024 and March 13th, 2024 (former early release days) will become full student days. The new student calendar is linked below.

Students, there are many of you who have not turned in your technology user agreement.  These forms are available in the media center.  We will be locking the devices of any student who does not have one on file at the end of this month.  Please get this taken care of ASAP.

We are very fortunate that part of the bond funds went towards our cafeteria expansion, the outdoor eating area, and brand new bathrooms for this space.  Students, it is your responsibility to clean up after yourself at lunch.  This includes throwing away your trash and putting the chairs back where they belong.  The cafeteria bathrooms are slated to open this week.  The expectation is that you would treat them as you treat yours at home.  If this cannot be done, they will close again and remain closed.

Students, please make sure that you sign up for EAgle time this week.  There will be no EAgle time this Thursday due to Workkeys testing.

Make sure you stay up to date with our daily announcements by listening to them during EAgle time.  If you miss a day, you can always catch up on our channel here.

Seniors, we have a page on our website just for you!  Check it out for the latest updates on all you need to know to navigate your senior year.  Go ahead and order your cap and gown before the price goes up in December.  Graduation will be June 8th, at 4:00 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse.

Yearbooks are now on sale for their lowest price.  You can purchase one here.

In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features.  Finally, if you want to be a parent observer in your child’s Canvas courses then click here for instructions to set that up.  If you have any questions please reach out to us.

Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students.  If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.c...

You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
