Good evening,
We had a great first week back at school!
As a reminder, if you ride an early bus, you should report to the cafeteria when you arrive on campus. It will open at 7:45 for early bus riders. The auditorium lobby and gym will open at 8:10 for all other students.
Thank you for your continued patience as we smooth out morning drop off and afternoon pickup. You can help us out by doing a few simple things. Please do not use the bus lot to pick up or drop off students. This access is for buses only. High school students should not get out of a car in the Woodlawn car rider line at any other point except in front of Woodlawn (where their sibling gets out). It is dangerous for a student to get out at any other point. Students who are car riders should only get out of the car in the car rider circle. Please do not drop off or pick up students on Mebane Rogers Road. This is also dangerous.
Please note that Wednesday is now a full school day. We will dismiss at normal time.
We held class meetings last week. We try not to suspend students from school, as we know it is very important for them to be in class so that they get daily instruction from their teacher. Below is a list of things that students will automatically be suspended for if they were to occur.
Fighting
Possession of Drugs or Alcohol
Possession of a Weapon
Profanity directed at a Staff Member
Sexual Assault (Inappropriate Touching)
Vandalism of School Property
It is important for me to keep our students and staff safe at school. Please talk with your children about these expectations and the importance of communicating any issues with you or an adult on our campus. Thank you in advance for working with us to ensure a safe learning environment for all of our students.
At this time any student parking on campus should have a parking permit. Please make sure you are parking in your correct parking space. We will begin checking the parking lot this week.
In order to stay up to date about your child’s grades and attendance, it is very important that you download the Powerschool Parent Portal App. HERE is all the information you need to download the app and set up its features. Please let us know if we can help you.
ABSS & Alamance County Health Department (ACHD) have collaborated to provide multiple immunization opportunities. These mobile immunization clinics have been arranged in different locations across the school district to promote the ability to attend for those that are in need of additional vaccinations, more specifically targeting the known needs of many of the 23-24 kindergarteners, 7th graders, 12th graders, as well as new enrollments. Please see the Flyer for more information.
CTEC September 20th 1-4pm
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. The form is available in the office or you can fill it out online: https://www.lunchapplication.com/
You can add money to their lunch account online, by clicking the link below.
