Good afternoon, Eagle Family!

What a beautiful Sunday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and enjoyed time doing something you enjoy. As we enter Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to extend my sincere gratitude for the immeasurable impact our teachers have on our students and community each day. Take time this week to share with a teacher how they have positively impacted your life.

Tomorrow, 5/8/2023, is an early release day and we will dismiss at 12:45 pm.

I want to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Waters and all the staff who helped to make prom a fun and memorable experience for our students. The space was transformed into a lovely venue and it was so nice to see the students dressed in their best!

Congratulations to one of our seniors who participated in the All-State Band last weekend! Congratulations to our sports teams who are entering playoff competition! Job well done to our Poetry readers and contestants-congratulations to the winners!

Advanced Placement Testing continues this week. All students should report to the testing site 30 minutes prior to the start of their exam, 7:30 a.m. for 8:00 a.m. exams and 11:30 a.m. for noon start. If you have questions talk to your AP teacher, or contact AP Coordinator Shamonna Thomas at  Shamonna_thomas@abss.k12.nc.us. AP Calculus is 5/8 at 8 a.m.; AP Biology is 5/10 at 12 p.m.; and AP World Modern is 5/11 at 8 a.m. It is important that each student arrives on time; exams must start on time.

During the days when AP Testing is taking place, all students who arrive before 8:35 a.m. will need to report to the Gym or Cafeteria only as the Media Center will be used for testing. Signs will be posted on the days testing is taking place to remind students of these locations.

We are excited to share that the CTE Senior Job Fair is scheduled at the Mebane Arts Center on Thursday, May 11th from 9am to noon. This event is targeted towards seniors planning for employment after graduation and seniors planning to stay local for school and would be interested in part-time work. Please encourage your senior/s to attend. All businesses will have available job opportunities as this is a Job Fair. Seniors should contact our CDC, Mrs. Rae Johnson for the permission slip to attend.

Our Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy is planning a Community Day for 5/13 and would love for you all to come out! Your friends and family are welcome as well. The EA Community Day will be May 13th from 11-1 and held in the senior parking lot. There will be many fun games and food trucks available! Overall, it is a fun-filled event for our community.
