The Alamance-Burlington School System has named Erin Stoker, school counselor at the ABSS Early College at Alamance Community College, as the School Counselor of the Year. This well-deserved recognition highlights Stoker's unwavering dedication and relentless efforts in supporting students throughout their high school and collegiate experiences.

Whitney Fliehman, principal of ABSS Early College at ACC, praised Stoker's contributions, stating, "Mrs. Stoker is an asset to the ABSS Early College at ACC and ABSS. She works tirelessly to ensure that students are supported throughout their high school and collegiate experience during their years at ABEC."

Stoker's dedication extends beyond her counseling duties. She advises the Student Council, coordinating events such as Fun Fridays and Prom to enhance the school's culture and student experience. Additionally, she provides monthly seminars on essential life skills, including effective study habits, healthy habits, goal setting, and future planning.

"Mrs. Stoker has been faced with supporting students and staff through very difficult situations and she always does so with poise, confidentiality, and care," Fliehman added. "The network of service and support she has created at ACC and ABEC make her a great School Counselor and we are proud to work alongside her."

Stoker's nurturing and supportive presence has made her a trusted figure among students, staff, and ACC faculty. She goes the extra mile to ensure that students have access to the resources they need, whether it's mental health support or assistance during challenging times like the loss of a home or a parent.

The ABSS community celebrates Erin Stoker's remarkable achievement as the School Counselor of the Year, recognizing her unwavering commitment to student success and well-being.
