Husky Families,
I want to give a huge shoutout to our HMS Boosters and all of the amazing parent volunteers for making Friday’s Valentine’s Dance such a massive success! With well over 300 tickets sold, plus concessions, chocolates, flowers, a gaming truck, and a photo booth, it was truly a night to remember for our students!
A special thank you to our dedicated staff and parent volunteers who helped bring this event to life. We couldn't do it without your hard work and support! Seeing our students enjoy such a fun and safe celebration was the highlight of the night!
Please continue reading for the latest information on upcoming activities, reminders, and ways to stay engaged with our school community.
Valentines Day Reminders: We love celebrating our students and all the joy Valentine’s Day brings, but we want to keep the focus on learning during the school day! To avoid disruptions in the classroom, please remember that Valentine’s Day gifts such as flower bouquets, balloons, gift baskets, and food items should not be brought to school. While we encourage students to celebrate with family and friends outside of school, these items can cause distractions in the instructional environment. If a student brings a gift item to school, it will be held in the front office until the end of the day. Thank you for helping us maintain a productive and focused learning environment while keeping the holiday fun and festive at home!
Love the Bus Month: This month, we celebrate our amazing bus drivers who go the extra mile every day to ensure our students arrive at school safely and on time. Our drivers play a vital role in the Hawfields community, and we are so grateful for their dedication, patience, and care! Be sure to thank a bus driver this month and let them know how much we appreciate all they do. We couldn’t do it without them!
Attendance: Hawfields Middle School is committed to engaging students in challenging learning opportunities that are matched to individual needs. In order to allow our teachers and staff to support students in this way, it is imperative that every student attend school regularly. Our overall average attendance rate last week was 91.4%, with the 8th grade class having the highest attendance at 93.1%! Thank you for helping us reach our weekly attendance goal of 95% or higher!
