Hurricane Helene devastated portions of the western region of our state when the system stalled over the Western NC/Eastern TN region. The NC D.A.R.E Officers have organized a collection drive to support recovery efforts. While media coverage has been comprehensive for areas such as Asheville, NC, many other small-town communities continue to face challenges such as missing persons, absence of electricity and running water, and loss of shelter due to storm flood waters.
Our hearts and prayers are with this region as they navigate the road to recovery.
