
ABSS Alert: In an effort to be transparent with our community, we are letting you know some threatening graffiti was found on the bathroom wall at Graham Middle today. We have no reason to believe the threat of violence is credible. We have requested additional law enforcement on the campus as a precaution. As always the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

Highland Elementary got a real treat this week from WFMY News 2 Meteorologist, Christian Morgan who shared all about weather! Students learned about the water cycle, different types of maps and radars, types of weather, and more. #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

To take learning beyond the classroom, eighth grade students at Western Middle created a "wax museum" of famous people from Spanish-speaking countries. After a month of research, they developed a speech to summarize the person's life, along with a visual representation. Other classrooms from Western were invited to visit the museum and complete a scavenger hunt. Impressive work! #StudentCenteredFutureFocused #HispanicHeritageMonth

ABSS Virtual School senior Emily Mathews, who plays on the Eastern High Team, shoots a 6 under par 66 today in the final round of the NCHSAA State Championships to win her 3rd straight state title. She will be playing golf next year at Virginia Tech. Congratulations, Emily!


Shout out to the Swepsonville FD for visiting Alexander Wilson for Fire Safety Month. Students practiced stop, drop, and roll and crawled through the smoke house to practice how to stay safe in a fire emergency. Bonus: Mrs. Russell tried on the fire gear. 🔥 #ABSSCommunity





First graders at Highland visited McLaurin Farms in Greensboro. Students learned about pumpkins, fed barnyard animals, and took a ride in the grain train around the farm. They had hands on experiences while learning and having fun! #ABSSCommunity #StudentCenteredFutureFocused
