Update: Police continue to search for the car that appeared on South Mebane's campus today. The vehicle, which was a rental, came through the car line without a child. When approached, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. We do not consider it a threat to the campus at this time. Due to this being an elementary school, we are acting out of an abundance of caution and police are investigating thoroughly.

Dr. Kristy Davis, Clifton Thomas, Nicole Lancaster, and Dr. Ilana Dixon participated in a Public Innovators Lab on Wednesday and Thursday. This was offered through Impact Alamance and its work with the Harwood Institute. These district leaders are working with community leaders to develop ways to engage the Alamance-Burlington community with our schools. #ABSSCommunity

ABSS Alert: The Alamance Sheriff's Dept. and other agencies have been investigating a TikTok challenge/threat today. There is no immediate threat to our schools. Please talk with your student about the seriousness of sharing these videos that could result in criminal charges and or disciplinary action.

Holly shared their story - "We met at a Halloween Party back in 1999! 🎃 We have both been working in ABSS for about 20 years and we have both had the privilege to have our son with us at the schools we have served. There's a lot to LOVE ❤️️ this month and ABSS wants to shout out some couples who work in our district. We asked staff couples in the district to share their story. First up is Bear & Erika Bryant! Bear is the current Principal of Western Alamance High School. He started out in Guilford County but moved to ABSS in 2016. Erika is an Interventionist of Smith Elementary. She has spent most of her career in ABSS, teaching at Sylvan, EM Holt, BEJ, and Smith. Here is what Bear had to say: "Erika and I started dating our junior year of high school and have been together ever since (23 years!). We love the community feel here and are grateful for the many friends we have made in the district over the years. We are glad to call ABSS home!" #ABSSAskStaff
