
Great news from Carowinds Music in the Parks Festival, where Hawfields Middle School and Turrentine Middle School achieved top scores. Congrats to Turrentine Orchestra, Turrentine Band, Hawfields Chorus, and Hawfields MS Band on these accomplishments! Hawfields also earned the Esprit de Corps award for demonstrating excellent social and musical behavior. 🎵

OTs work with students to develop the skills they need to participate in classroom activities and daily routines, such as writing, using scissors, and tying shoes. 🎉 Congrats to Eastern Alamance Band students Dominic Lingg & Tyson Sessoms for earning placements in the NC All-State Bands! 🎶 Dominic on Vibraphone in the NCMEA All-State Jazz Band & Tyson on Trumpet in the NC Bandmasters Senior High School All-State Band. 🎤 The EAHS Eagle Chorus also received a phenomenal Superior rating at the Festival of Music at Carowinds - the highest possible rating! 🦅 #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

According to law enforcement, the post originated in another state. Thanks to the students who reported this in an effort to keep our schools safe.

We want to give a shout-out to Elon University's Village Project for 15 years of impactful work! They're hosting a celebration tonight at Alumni Gym from 5:30-7:30pm. Nearly 300 students and volunteers from Elon University provide tutoring services and collaborate with teachers, principals, and families in ABSS elementary schools! #ABSSCommunity #StudentCenteredFutureFocused


It's time to level up! 🕹⬆️ Our rising 6th graders started the transition process yesterday by visiting their new middle schools! They learned about classes, programs, and extracurricular activities, and enjoyed their tour through the building. #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

Exciting news! ✨ Shavon Via, a teacher at Eastlawn Elementary School, has been selected as a 2023-24 Kenan Fellow for her project STEPS4GROWTH Clean Energy Fellowship: Energy Efficiency. NC State's 🐺 Kenan Fellows Program empowers teachers by giving them hands-on experience in industry and research, which they can then bring back to their schools and communities. 🎉 Congratulations to the students from CTEC who participated in the North Carolina SkillsUSA competition! They achieved remarkable results, placing 5th in Culinary Arts, 4th in Commercial Baking, and 1st in Entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship team will progress to the national stage in Atlanta, representing our district in June. This was the first time competing for many of these students! We're proud of Adan Orellana Alberto, Eli Norris-McClure, Gabriella McWilliams, Leila (Kia) Bellows, Jessica Arizmendi, and Jackeline Salas Rodriguez.
