Mariah Claiborne began her career in education as a middle grades math teacher at Melvin C. Swann Middle School in Guilford County, where she taught for four years. In pursuit of continued professional growth, she transitioned to Alamance-Burlington School System in 2022, joining the staff at Western Alamance Middle School.

Claiborne is a proud product of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education. She is currently advancing her expertise by pursuing a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership at High Point University and has served as a Principal Intern at Western Alamance High School since October 2024.

Throughout her career, Claiborne has demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, student-centered learning, and collaborative leadership. She looks forward to bringing her experience and passion for education into her new role as Assistant Principal at Western Alamance High School.
