Mr. Scott Moore brings over 20 years of educational experience to his role as Principal at Turrentine Middle School, where he has been serving as interim principal for several months. His career began in 2004 as a Social Studies teacher in Guilford County Schools, where he established himself as a Level 5 American History teacher and Advanced Placement instructor for Psychology and U.S. History.
"I'm excited to be a member of the Turrentine family," Moore said. "Our students, staff, and community are all very supportive and together we will continue to accomplish great things."
Throughout his career, Mr. Moore has held various leadership positions, including his most recent role as Assistant Principal at Western Alamance High School. His leadership journey includes serving as an Assistant Principal at Hawfields Middle School, Behavior Coach/Interventionist at Broadview Middle School, and Social Studies Department Chair. Mr. Moore has also coordinated multiple summer school programs, mentored 11 student teachers over 12 years, and served on School Leadership Teams.
Mr. Moore holds a Post-Master's Certificate in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a Master's degree in History Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Science Education from Elon University.
Born and raised in Saline, Michigan, Mr. Moore has strong ties to Alamance County. Education runs deep in his family, with his mother being a life-long public school educator, his wife serving as a public school teacher, and his child attending Alamance-Burlington School System. Mr. Moore is committed to building on Turrentine Middle School's tradition of excellence while preparing students for future success.
