The Alamance-Burlington School System is congratulating the Class of 2024 Project Search graduates on their incredible achievements. Benjamin Clark, Vanessa Chavez, Tayshon Oliver, Demetric McCallum, Terrell Rogers, and Patrick Wigfall completed the comprehensive internship program at Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Through their internships, these students developed invaluable real-world skills like time management, communication, and collaboration while working alongside hospital staff. Under the guidance of instructors Breton Chrismon and Charlotte O'Neal, and Amanda Prince, they gained professional experience preparing them for future career success.
Now nearly a decade old, Project Search exemplifies the impact created when diverse stakeholders unite toward a common goal. The partnership between ABSS, Cone Health, Vaya Health, OE Enterprises, the NC Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Employment and Independent for People with Disabilities, government agencies, businesses, and nonprofits has provided tailored job training, internships, and ongoing support.
Since its inception, Project Search has graduated 49 students, with 23 securing employment at local companies like Cross Manufacturing and Kohl's upon completion. The program's success stems from the incredible passion and tireless dedication from all partners involved.
Project Search shows just how impactful collaborative efforts can be when resources and commitment are combined to create meaningful opportunities. It has become an inspirational force empowering ABSS students.
ABSS remains committed to overcoming challenges and expanding inclusive initiatives like Project Search that open doors for student achievement. As the Class of 2024 graduates look ahead to bright futures, their perseverance through this program will continue motivating others.
