Parents' Bill of Rights: Instructional and Media Center Materials
It is the intent of the Alamance-Burlington Board of Education to make available to all students the best available instructional and supplementary instructional materials, as well as library/media center resources. This includes textbooks, equipment, supplementary books and resources, and library books and resources. Alamance-Burlington School System keeps an updated list of books in our media center and is available upon request through our Central Service Office.
A textbook is defined as set forth in N.C.G.S. § 115C-85: “systematically organized material comprehensive enough to cover the primary objectives outlined in the standard course of study for a grade or course.” Supplementary materials include supplementary textbooks, periodicals, audio visual materials, and other supplementary materials used for instructional purposes.
