Following a public survey and community forum, the ABSS Board of Education voted 4 to 3 tonight to name the new high school off Highway 119, Southeast Alamance High School.
In 2018, voters overwhelmingly supported a $150 million education bond with $67 million for a new high school and the remaining for other school improvements. The 221,000 square foot facility will have a capacity for 1,250 students when it opens for students August 2023.
The next step will be to survey students to get their input on a mascot.
The school colors of blue and orange were chosen earlier.
